Bullbridge

Bullbridge is the name of two persons referred to in the story of English Magic. One is the kindly farmer who meets Jeremy Johns after he has been wickedly sent on a fool's errand by his master, Laurence Strange [14]: the other is the farm labourer who some years afterwards witnesses the departure of Mrs Strange into Faerie[43]. Both men live in the vicinity of Ashfair, and may well be related (though it is to be hoped that they are not the same man: it would be a sad catastrophe that reduced a yeoman farmer to the rank of a mere labourer toiling on other men's land).
