The Castle of Alba de Tormes is a castle-palace in Salamanca, Spain. The castle, despite having been mostly destroyed by the French, nonetheless serves as the Earl of Wellington's temporary headquarters following the Battle of Salamanca on July 22, 1812 [31].*

It is at the castle where Wellington learns of the six cannon stolen by the Neapolitan deserters from Buonaparte's army from Major Grant. Wellington orders Grant, Mr Strange, and Colonel De Lancey to determine the location of the cannons [31].

*. Arthur Wellesley had not yet been granted the title of Duke at this point. That honor was granted on May 3, 1814.
