Fiskerton, ("the fishermen's town"), is in Nottinghamshire, and according to folk legend it was once the home of the troublesome Mrs Ford. It stands upon the River Greet - which is a "river" only in the English sense of being such a shallow, gravel-bottomed stream as a child might wade across - but nonetheless Fiskerton has local fame among anglers as being "a great place for fish". The addition of a fine modern mill has rather spoilt its tranquillity.
