Jenny

Jenny - her last name is not given - is an old servant in the Woodhope family. Mrs Strange speaks of driving out to see her when Rev. Henry Woodhope arrives at Ashfair on a visit in the December of 1815. It seems Jenny and her fellow servant Alwen are greatly looking forward to this visit of their old master's son, for "They talk of nothing but Henry's coming." It appears too that they are far gone in years, for Mrs Strange judges that should her brother not visit them on this occasion, another may not arise:"It is five years since they saw him last and they are scarcely likely to last another five years, poor things."
