Palgrave

Mr Palgrave is an elderly gentleman residing in Twickenham. Although he has lived to be eighty and therefore comfortably exceeded the alloted biblical span of 'threescore years and ten', in 1814 he pays Christopher Drawlight a goodly sum of money in the belief the latter can persuade either Strange or Norrell to prolong his life by a further eighty years. In addition he wishes them to restore him to the vigour of youth. He is disappointed[37].
