Pity-me

Pity-me is the name of a dukedom in Faerie. In 1808 it is described to Stephen Black by the gentleman with the thistle-down hair as a miserable little place [19].
(There are of course several locations in the remote north of England named Pity Me , but the one spoken of can scarcely be among them. While most may deserve The Gentleman's disparaging description, none could possibly be described as a "dukedom".)
