Pity-me

Pity-me is the name of a dukedom in Faerie.

When the gentleman with the thistle-down hair is speculating to Stephen Black as to which kingdom of Faerie would be most amenable to Stephen's rule in February 1808, he briefly considers Pity-me, but dismisses it as a miserable little place [19].

Notes

There are several locations in the remote north of England named Pity Me , but the one spoken of can scarcely be among them. While most may deserve The Gentleman's disparaging description, none could possibly be described as a "dukedom".
