Threadneedle-street

Threadneedle-street is a London thoroughfare, the place where Vinculus has his yellow-curtained booth, near to the church of St Christopher le Stocks[20]. The etymology of the unusual name is obscure, but according to the most respectable theory it is thought to be derived from the former presence there of a tailor's shop.
