Valentine Greatrakes was an Irishman notable for having held a conversation with the prophets Moses and Aaron in the Shadow House in 1666. This event, surprising enough in itself, is the more remarkable since the three conversed in Hebrew.[23].

Notes

Greatrakes spent some time from 1662 to 1668 acting as a faith-healer, acquiring such a reputation as to earn the epithet The Stroker in recognition of his practice of healing the sick by the laying on of hands.
