Alexander of Whitby

Alexander of Whitby was a 13th century magician, notable for proposing the Whitbyian Heresy, which stated that the universe was like a tapestry, of which during life one can only see a few parts at a time; however, after one has died, one is able to see the entire picture and understand the relation between the numerous parts.
Alexander was forced to retract his theory after he was accused of heresy [43].
