These are the names of fairy spirits allegedly belonging to a street-sorcerer called Dreamditch in whom Mrs Wintertowne's stepmother placed great confidence. As Dreamditch lived at a time when magic was generally absent from England it is unlikely he truly had command of fairy-servants, so they may merely be the products of fancy[6].
